Choosing colours that actually match your school
Screens lie. Here is how we match a colour from a photo, an old letter or a paint chip — and get it right.
No two screens show the same navy. If your colours matter — and for a school they always do — do not trust a monitor to make the final call.
The most reliable reference is an existing letter. Post it to us, we match it against the yarn in the shop and send it back with the order.
Second best is a photograph in daylight, next to something neutral and white. That gives us enough to narrow twenty-six colours down to two or three.
We will always tell you when two of our shades are close enough that the difference will not read from more than a metre away. Often it saves you a week of deliberation.
