The four layers
What you are choosing when you build one

Chenille
The chenille part of the letter is the actual yarn in the letter.

Trim
The trim or "chain stitch" is the actual stitch that borders the letter. 95% of letters will have the same color trim as the chenille, but the trim can contrast.

First layer of felt
The piece of scrim felt sewn directly to the chenille, the innermost border. It's often the same color as the chenille for a fuller look.
04
2nd layer of felt
The bottom-most piece of felt, forming the outermost border.
